We all want to look and feel our best on our wedding day, which includes having perfect blemish-free, glowing skin. Preparation for the big day starts well in advance, and so should your skin prep. Our team of medical skin experts at skinID have created the ultimate bridal countdown to achieving a flawless look for your wedding day.

Laser hair removal

Ensure you are silky smooth on your wedding day with no razor rashes or lumps and bumps visible with a course of laser hair removal. This treatment is quick and painless at skinID with our state-of-the-art machine, the Motus DEKA. Found in leading Harley Street clinics, we’ve brought this game-changing technology to the south coast in Dorset. You’ll need to start your course of laser 6-12 months ahead of your wedding day depending on your skin/hair type, with a session every 6-8 weeks.

Laser therapy

Lasers can be a bride’s best friend. Using our Lynton Laser machine, we can target areas with precision and treat dilated blood vessels, thread veins, tattoo removal, scarring, stretch marks, benign moles, skin tags, fungal nail removal and pigmentation. We recommend starting these procedures at least 6 months prior as you will need around 3 sessions, 4 weeks apart.

Chemical peel

Chemicals peels can brighten the skin, even out skin tone, and reduce shallow wrinkles before your special day. It jumpstarts the skin’s exfoliation process and encourages faster skin cell turnover—which means blemish-free, smooth, and glowing skin.

This treatment can also be effective at reducing the visible signs of sun damage and hyperpigmentation in areas such as the face and décolletage area which may be on show in your dress. We recommend peels at least 5 months ahead of your wedding as they can cause skin flaking and redness. You’ll want to make sure that your skin has time to regenerate.

Microneedling (Dermapen)

Microneedling is minimally invasive and takes about 20 minutes to complete each session. The treatment stimulates collagen elastin production for smoother skin, improving a number of conditions such as the appearance of scars, rosacea, acne and sun damage. We recommend brides-to-be to start this at least 4 months before the wedding.

Collagen supplements

One of the most well-known benefits of collagen is its ability to give skin a healthy glow. Collagen does this by providing elasticity to the skin, which helps it to appear plump and youthful. We recommend starting (if you don’t already) to take these once a day, 2-3 months ahead of your wedding. We have a range of collagen supplements available to purchase at the clinic.Cleanse your skin & use Vitamin C

A course of facials

If you really want your skin to glow in your wedding pictures, plan for a minimum of three months of regular facials. Depending on your skin type, we can recommend a course specific to your skin’s need. For example, if you are prone to blemishes, the iS Clinical Fire & Ice Facial is perfect for you. It’s designed to resurface the skin, treat problematic skin, reduce fine lines and encourage cellular renewal. Many of our brides go for the Champagne Facial the day before their wedding too.

Medical grade skin care

If you haven’t already, it’s time to invest in some quality medical-grade skincare products for your cleanser, exfoliator, moisturiser and SPF. When it comes to skincare, several months of regimented Vitamin A or Retinol application can do wonders to create a healthy glow for your skin. Vitamin-C offers antioxidant protection, brightening the skin and evening out the skin tone. Our team of skin experts can analyse your skin and recommend products based on your skin type.

Profhilo

Profhilo is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the skin. It acts as a hydrator, not a filler, and can be used in the face or neck. It’s injected just underneath the surface of the skin where it disperses quickly and reacts with your own tissue to instantly boost hydration and leave your skin glowing with very little down time. At the start, you will need two induction sessions one month apart then one session every 4 - 6 months for maintenance, so we recommend starting at least 6 weeks before the wedding.

Botox

If you’re prone to sweaty palms and under arms, opting for Botox treatment in these areas before the big day can ensure you are sweat-free and ready to party without having to worrying about sweat patches ruining your day. Botox is injected into the skin and works by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. Results can last up to 4-6 months. Botox can also be used to prevent frown lines in the run up to the wedding, helping to soften lines and wrinkles. We recommend having your last Botox appointment at least 1 month prior to the wedding to allow for two weeks for it to take full effect, and another 2 weeks in case of any top ups/tweaks.

Fillers

As we age, our skin can lose elasticity, plumpness and appear aged and wrinkled. Fillers can be used to achieve a naturally full and rejuvenated lip aesthetic, create a more defined cheekbone or jawline, or even to tweak the shape of your nose for your wedding day.

Injecting fillers into your hands can take years off, making sure those photos of your wedding rings are ones you’ll want to show off to your friends.

And if the stress of planning a wedding has taken a toll on your under-eye bags, tear trough filler can leave you looking fresh and ready for the day.
